The firm was selected as the prime consultant for this 550 acre project. The site is one that is very sensitive ecologically in that it evolved as a result of a long term land fill on the San Francisco Bay. We planned site development including the determination of sites for an Interpretive Area and the Conference Resort. We evaluated parking needs and the impact on the Interpretive Center, the relationship to the Conference Center and support facilities, as well as the linkage to the trail system. The challenge was to protect and preserve the native habitat while promoting site specific high technology developments for people and recreation. We introduced native bay land plants into a land fill area devoid of plant material. We selected materials that are indigenous to bay marshes and salt water flats to support native fauna.
